The trend of steel buildings is increasing across the globe.
This trend originated in America and then spread to Europe. Today, most of the
buildings in almost every country have its internal frame made up of steel. The
reason for overwhelming usage of steel in the modern construction is the
aesthetic and mechanic properties of steel. Steel is widely believed to be a
strong element available for building a steel building.
Considering the usage of this material in the constructions,
there are two types of buildings: steel framed buildings and steel buildings.
Building a steel framed building is a little different from building a steel building. Both have steel incorporated in their designs; although the nature of
construction, type of steel, and design of both differs buildings differ in
many terms.
Building a steel framed building involves building the
internal frame of the structure from steel. The internal frame is made up of
steel to support the rest of the structure, which might be made up of concrete
or other material. Steel in these structures are actually incorporated in the
concretes and beams for utmost support and strength. Building a steel framed
building involves utilizing comparatively low grade steel than that of steel
buildings; however, the strength and durability of the material is not
something to compromise over.
